Kibbutz Gat
with Karmi Architects
Gat was designed for a family of 5 that enjoy family gathering and meals together. For that purpose, the house was planned around a central courtyard. Additionally, every bedroom has its own private piece of garden, allowing each member of the family to escape from each other when needed. The kitchen and living area open directly on the central courtyard while the other room are separated from it for privacy purposes. The general flow in the house is always leading to the central point of the house, the Tree in the centre of the courtyard.
The house was built with local materials and with no extra features, allowing the budget to stay low and affordable.
