Kindergarten II

with Karmi Architects

AALK was offered by the City of Bat Yam to take part in a competition for the proposal of a 3 classrooms kindergarten in 3 different locations. Two classrooms had to be located on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Each classroom had to be independent from the other one, with its own courtyard and functions. They all meet in the open corridor leading to the classes and acting as a buffer zone.

The idea was to create a space including many small spaces / functions avoiding internal corridors so that you are always part of the main area, the classroom. The lack of corridor is the strength of the connection between people and functions.
